WALTHER CP-99 Compact Airgun
A
licensed airgun powered by a 12 g CO2 capsule located in the grip. The gas
powers both the BBs, which are propelled with a muzzle velocity of around 90
m/sec and the mobile slide, which is jerked backwards during a shot - BlowBack system. The spare gas contained in the CO2 capsule
lasts for 80 - 90 shots.
The
grip stores also an 18 round 4,5 mm BB magazine. The
user is informed about firing the last BB, as in modern firearms, by the slide
remaining in the rear position. In order to change the magazine it is necessary
to pull the magazine latch downwards - the latch is in the form of a wing,
which is a part of the trigger guard and is located at its base where it
connects with the grip.
The
trigger operates in an SA (Single Action) mode which means that it is
responsible only for uncocking the hammer. The hammer is cocked automatically
when the slide moves backwards as a result of Blow-Back. Readiness to fire is signaled by a red dot visible at the back of the pistol
above the grip, below the rear sight - it is a true representation of the
original live firearm, which implements an indicator from a strained firing pin
in the very same spot.
The
skeleton was made from durable, black polymers, while the barrel, slide and
internal mechanisms were made from metal. The sliding safety located on the
right side of the skeleton efficiently prevents from accidental discharge -
releases the internal hammer and disconnects the trigger mechanism.
Fixed
iron sights consist of the front and rear sights. Under the trigger guard is
located a stanag 2324 accessory rail (known as
MIL-STD 1913, weaver or picatinny) that enables the
attachment of tactical flashlights or a laser sight.
The
pistol belongs to a family of semi-automatic sidearms,
which allow for safe shooting practice whilst retaining much of realism.
The set includes:
